All scientific findings show that we are in a climate crisis, that we are heading in the short term towards a catastrophe called "abrupt and irreversible climate change" which threatens civilization and life.

The increase in the atmosphere of greenhouse gases from
Of the industry, transports, agriculture and melting permafrost, and
the increase in the global average temperature disrupts the global climate in an unprecedented way.

These consequences have local repercussions on the quality
of people's lives, such as floods, heat islands, loss of income for farmers and reduced access to food.

proximity and that climate change is the defining issue of our time, the MARE is part of the movement “Montérégie climate emergency” and ask the municipalities of the region :

2- Commit to developing a comprehensive plan including all
GES sources (industrial, municipal and community) aiming to cope with the situation by drawing inspiration from Work on the Declaration of Climate Emergency;

3- To mobilize citizens to be a stakeholder in the proposed approach;

4- To provide an account of the progress of the plan and that it be communicated to citizens annually.

5- Encourage provincial and federal governments to provide the necessary support for the interventions that will be required to meet these commitments.
