A little word to the Earth

  • December 8, 2023December 8, 2023

Mother Earth, I fight for you!

I'm here for you.

And I know you're there for me.

By protecting you, I recreate you.

And with you I want to recreate myself.

Let me walk with you,

Gaze at you, chantonner,

draw you, to dance,

Talk to you softly, meditate.

May my vacation not be an emptiness,

But an opportunity to fill me with you.

Your son who loves you,

Gaëtan

Ballad by Culture Collective

  • March 17, 2023December 8, 2023

MARE invites you to discover the podcast of Culture Collective. Their Facebook page is intended to be a space for anyone who is curious or wants to learn about eco-responsible approaches..

Furthermore, the guest of the first episode… is the MARE! This episode provides additional information with the interview presented two weeks ago. Notably, a relevant reminder of the need to focus on our commonalities rather than our divergent points.

The next episodes promise to be just as interesting and relevant with regard to our regional issues. A page and a podcast to discover.

Ballad two RDQ : collaboration and activism at MARE

  • March 3, 2023December 8, 2023

Longing for an invigorating spring breeze? The MARE invites you to listen to the interview given by a member of the MARE to the podcast Quebec Tomorrow Network (episode #3). The vision and actions of MARE are brilliantly explained there.. The issues are also pleasantly popularized there. Despite the perils we must face, the interview gives credence to collaboration and activism to build “tomorrows” which will be viable.

A nice summary (20 min!) to share, whether to illustrate to your loved ones your own involvement or to make them want to get involved. Thank you and congratulations to our representative!

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF… GRETA RETURNED TO MONTREAL?

  • December 7, 2022December 7, 2022

Alexis, an active member of the MARE, is also a columnist for FREE ENTRANCE, a Sherbrooke community newspaper. In this article taken up by the‘Quebec Community Written Media Association (AMECQ) as well as by the’Pressenza international press agency, he shares his questions about “post-Greta”.

The 27 September 2019, we were half a million people walking the streets of Montreal, making history, heart full of hope, handmade placard, chanting environmental slogans by the thousands. No overflow to report. Much to the chagrin of some commentators, the streets were even cleaner when the demonstrators left than when they arrived. A perfect manifestation indeed. At the same time, nearly ten thousand others demonstrated, same here, in Sherbrooke.

In response to the resounding cry of alarm from an entire generation who mobilized alongside parents and grandparents, the federal government has proposed to plant trees. They are still waiting. No change of course on the horizon. We heard you young people, it will be business as usual, but with a few more trees.

Industrial world or natural world

  • October 16, 2020July 14, 2021

The 15 last september, when the MARE submitted a request for support for the Declaration of Climate Emergency at the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield municipal council meeting, Michaël presented a request to improve the protection of the fauna of Parc de la Barrière as part of the real estate development taking place in this territory.

The MARE is proud to support the citizens of Parc de la Barrière in their efforts.

At the end of his speech, Michaël read a poetic text that he wrote himself. It was a very rich moment, combining poetry and environmental struggle.

What a planet for our grandchildren? or Which grandchildren for…

  • July 14, 2020December 8, 2023

We have all been rightly challenged by Greta Thunberg's statements. She's right to sound the alarm bell but I don't want her to blame me for leaving her a planet in danger. I don't want her messages to create a generation of eco-anxiety.
