For a year, the families of Manawan have held a forest blockade at km 60 of the main path to defend the Nitaskinan – Atikamekw territory – faced with the destruction of forestry companies.

The guardians of the territory want to form an independent movement that will unite the forces of all the communities and citizens of the region in the same fight for the territory and the rights of the Atikamekw people..
